It’s May! It’s May!

The flowers are celebrating!

The beginning of May brought us transfer week! An exciting time with missionaries coming and going.

Even Elder RioFrio’s lizard is excited to be there!

President & Sister Quinn invite us to their home to welcome the new missionaries. They have a swing that provides great entertainment for everyone!

The new missionaries were trained by the office missionaries on Saturday. The APs-Elders Poulsen and Wiley—are outstanding young men and never seem to rest.

Ward members furnish meals for the missionaries on Saturday and Sunday. The Lunds included us in the Bennett Valley Ward-a grand time with great food!

(The Bennett Valley Ward Elders—Elders Dixon & Harlan, Bro & Sister Lund—Elders Wright& Dixon—(Yes, 2 Elder Dixons) Elder Kennan wasn’t feeling well, so he stayed home.

Zone Conferences follow transfers.

Sister Schneider, our health advisor, traveled with us this time— she is a great source of fun as well as being available to missionaries with health concerns 24-7. We stopped at The Founder’s Tree and went for a walk.

The Lemons helped us with car inspections in the northern zones. Brother Isgrigg joined us in the rest. We certainly appreciate their help.

We stopped at the Newton- Drury-Chaney trail on the way back from Eureka. Lemons happened to go the same way and stopped when they saw our car. Each trail in the redwoods had its own ‘flavor.’ Each one = Beauty!

When I saw Elder Wiley in this hat/pose— I said. “Brother Joseph is back.” It fits! Don’t you agree?!

Have I mentioned how beautiful it is here? And the flowers!!! We are blessed!! ( I should say I am blessed— Elder Kennan hasn’t noticed them.😂😂😂)

Sometimes gas cards just fall in the cracks and disappear.😂 When that happens, we need to take them new ones. Whenever anyone travels in the mission, we always take deliveries of some sort— packages, and other items. When we make a ‘delivery run,’ we are always rewarded by seeing missionaries!

At one stop (lower right corner) we ‘happened’ to see Elder Hawkins. We didn’t know he would be there but he was on our delivery list. 5 minutes earlier or later, we would’ve missed him. It saved us an hour in driving time. Thank you!❤️ Heavenly Father!— small blessings when serving!

One of our stops was in St. Helena, so pretty!

We are getting to know a few people in the ward. I’ve mentioned the Lunds-Lorin & Rochelle are such good friends! Sister Lund invited us to go to the temple with her!—YES! Please and thank you! Brother Lund serves in the temple. “Oh, and do you want to go to the Greek Festival?” Sure!! It was just a block away from the temple so it worked out nicely.

Our new MLS couple— the Wilsons! Hooray!!

A trip to Carstar— it was close. Elder Scoresby is still in our prayers (his suit coat is still with us.) Our AMAZING APs Elders Poulsen & Wiley.

Our good friends-Nathan & Jennifer Andelin came to visit! We love them so much!

At the Mission Office and the Petrified Forest

The Charles Shultz Museum

Bodega Bay & Bodega Head

At our Ward Memorial Day Luncheon & then goodbye for now.

Memorial Day at the Quinn’s with the Senior Missionaries.

A family reunion at home

And birthdays

But we are here and send our love through the wires and thank God for the opportunity to serve Him now.

And one good turn deserves another and we’re always glad to help! So we did— with apartment inspections!

We also delivered mail and gas cards as we went. We also experienced a miracle when someone seeing our name tags ended up receiving a Book of Mormon from the Sisters who met us for lunch— very cool!

Everyone works so hard here in the mission field, but there’s always a reason for a get together, and ‘party breaks’ are a nice way to relieve some of the pressure.

A birthday is a GREAT reason to celebrate— especially when it’s your Mission President’s birthday! A total surprise to him. It was so fun watching the young Elders & Sisters waiting so excitedly to surprise him. It was a reminder of just how young they are and how much they love him and Sister Quinn.

And WOW just WOW! I thought May was slow!!—NOT!

We are now in our 11th month here! I have a feeling that the next 7 months will fly by.

We are so blessed by being here. We miss home and loved ones when we have time to do so. You are in our prayers. One of the many things that we have come to appreciate is the number of temples back home! Soooo —GO! RUN, RUN to the temple! And be blessed 🥰
